What was the last download/hi-res you bought?

I think you can still grab The Slip and/or Ghosts on his website for free in 24/96 FLAC.

At some time or another he has offered up almost everything for free download.

As a complete muppet I downloaded / purchased two WMA instead of FLAC recordings from the Linn Record Store (Vaughan Williams "On Wenlock Edge" and Carmina Celtica). Very kindly, they let me download the FLAC files at no extra charge. Very friendly and good service, my e-mail was turned around in less than an hour.

Not according to Naim DAC's "HD" light, but yes 24 bit is "hi-res".

I would rather have 24/44, than 16/96 (if that even existed). There is a BIG leap from 16/44 to 24/44. A small but seemingly worthwhile jump from 24/44 to 24/96.

The few times Ive had 24/192 rips (DVD-A), I dithered them to 26/96 and didn't miss a single thing.

As far as things are recorded at this point, i think 24/196 might be a waste of bandwidth.
