All is revealed: What the numbers actually mean.

Ok guys,
we got it all sorted out. The mystery has been solved.

Have you been wondering what the numbers actually mean. No need to crack your brains anymore. We got it all worked out.

Basically to calculate where your system stands in the Naim hierarchy, just take the model numbers that you have and add them up, except for 'X' mean multiply and 'S' means square.

Therefore if you have a CD5/112/150, it is basically 5+112+150 = 267.

If you have a CDX2/202/200, it is basically (202+200)*2 = 804.

However if you have a CDS2/82/180, its (82+180)^2 = 68644.

You can imagine what CDS3/552/500 will give you.

Get it? Its so simple. This falls in nicely with the source first theory, doesnt it.

what about a CDi?

A nice source componant often compared to the CDX.

Common, you got to get with the winning team here.

"what about a CDi?"

No problemo - the 'i' stands for 'imiaginary' - which is the case with CDi's here in the states.
