Bin liner or tea tray?

Or even a proper sledge from Toys-Arse?
New York is under record amounts of snow and we always get their snow two weeks later, so I want to be prepared this time. I've seen those big plastic frisbee things that look quite good but I've not tried one, but I quite like the idea of a traditional sledge.
Any experiences?

By the time it gets here it'll have turned to rain.

Get something that puts some air betwixt your backside and the unseen bumps under the snow. You'll be glad you did.
Gravity is a harsh mistress.

Big, heavy duty plastic sac, filled with straw. 5' piece of thin rope to tie the top closed and to hold on to / help steer.
Put the lot in the bin on the way home. You wont have to find anywhere to store it for the next ten years like you will with a traditional one.

...which in any case will dry out and fall to pieces, unless lovingly maintained, in ten years! Fredrik

You want padding? You want suspension? You want self-propelled? You want a warm seat? You want cheap? You want disposable?

If you're going to do something, do it properly:

It's 9 days since New York got it's snow, and it's here already. It's snowing outside right now and it's certainly cold enough to settle.
I'm going for an old fashioned wooden jobbie.

Tractor tyre inner tube.No directional control so a wide slope is best! But that Captain Avalanche jobee looks fun! It was snowing hard on the M3 last evening but it didn't stick.

Sadly, the Captain Avalanche isn't available for sale yet! But you can join the waiting list!
