So who has the AV2 and 175? Impressions?
I've not seen any reviews anywhere, so comments appreciated.

Demo'd this combination 10 days ago at Audio T Southampton. I had previously done a comparative dem of CD5/112/150 v. TAG AV32 plus 5 channel amp. Simple objective: could I get an AV setup (the TAG, well reviewed) to rival "straight stereo" (Naim, well reviewed and a LOT cheaper). For me the answer was NOT the TAG. I loved the Naim kit so the only remaining question was could the AV2 equal the 112 as a pre-amp?

Answer: not quite, but pretty near. I bought the CD5/112/150. I will add the AV2 when funds and spouse permit. Note that I did not have flatcap in either dem. I couldn't put my finger on exactly what made the 112 setup better; the AV2 seemed a bit "flatter" for want of a better word. The AV2's DVD performance was stunning and the 175 is obviously quite some power amp.

IMHO for buyers wanting an AV solution with Naim type audio performance, these products are the answer. Naim will sell many thousands; compared to the direct competition the price is there or thereabouts and much cheaper than some (e.g. Meridian.) It's just that I wasn't prepared to sacrifice stereo performance. I don't have golden ears but I do know what I like.

(Please no flames about "what a stupid idea, of course the stereo solution was better". I know what the textbook says, but it's my money and I was prepared to spend a lot of it to level the playing field. However c. £2600 of Naim 5 series beat well over 4 grands worth of TAG-in 2 channel; 5 grand in 5 channel-and for my ears beat it comfortably)
