I have loved Cecilia Bartoli since first seeing her on the South Bank Show 15 or more years ago, when she was a bright new young singer.
How I remember the opening sequence of her reclining in a gondola passing Venice's glorious La Fenice Opera House (pre-arson), to the soundtrack of her singing 'Bel raggio lusinghier' from Rossini's 'Semiramide'. Glorious!

So it is drat, drat, and double drat that I can't make ANY of her UK dates. Grrr.
