Expert Stylus Lyra Lydian

Hi,
I recently bought an original Lyra Lydian from audiogon with no cantilever/stylus.
Just spoke to a chap from ES(not Mr Hodgson)and was quoted around £300 for a new cantilever/retip,which is fine.
Apparantly though,they use a sapphire cantilevers,not boron(as was used on the Lyra)
Any thoughts on this?What is used on the Karma/troika rebuilds,that I know many of you are using?
