Nitin Sawhney - Beyond Skin

This has been on my list to buy for ages and came across it on Amazon last week (vinyl). Arrived yesterday....not happy with the vinyl at all. There is very audible hiss/crackling on most of the tracks.

Anyone else got this on vinyl? Do I have cheap pressing or are others the same?

I think it will be going back, although the music is fantastic.

The music IS fantastic - but the voice overs and geopolitical homilies spoil the album for me. I never understand why artists think we the buying punters would want to listen to that tripe again and again every time we play the album. I ended up making a copy of the CD and editing the spoken bits out - but they are not even separate tracks !

Some new pressings are very poor. I bought one by a while ago and took it back as it was very poor.

That album though has the lowest bass I've ever heard come out of my system and thats from a cd too.

I have already packaged it up and its on its way back to Amazon first thing tomorrow. I'll hunt around for the CD.

A lovely transparent and dynamic recording ob CD, with some stonking deep bass.
