Alternatives to NAC A5

Hi all,
I need to get a new set of cables made up, beacause I inted to tri-amp my Isobariks via the passive crossovers (they have Cannon/XLR plugs for active operation). So I thought it might be a chance to experiment. Hi-Fi News, in their review of the NAC 112/NAP 150 said
"...the first upgrade for a Naim amp is to dispense with the relatively unrefined NAC A5 and use...DNM Reson or Nordost Ribbon."
Anyone got any experience of this? Alternatives? Solid-core mains cable? Wet hairy string?
