Comparing CD3, CD3.5 and CD3.5/FC

I'm trying to decide between a CD3 and CD3.5.

It seems that many prefer the sound of the CD3 to that of the CD3.5 but I'm also wondering about the differences between a CD3 and CD3.5 with Flat-Cap.

Does the addition of a Flat-Cap tip the scales in favour of the CD3.5 for most of you or does the CD3 still have its fans?

You can't -cap a CD3, the feature only comes with the 3.5, so its really not a fair comparison. The 3.5 with a Flatcap, or far better a Hi-cap will always be better than the 3. The only benefit of the 3 is, it can be breathed upon by a certain company who dare not be mentioned here, but its apparently an excellent upgrade.
