Is this much of an upgrade?

I have a Sony 208 ES cd player with a Burr-Brown chip upgrade. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a Njoe Tjoeb 4000 with Mullard E88CC tubes. Is this much of an upgrade or more of a lateral move? Thanks in advance.

The Njoe handily beat out an Arcam 8se.

Never mind, mates. Since I found lots of positive comments and no negative ones, on audioreview, audioasylum and tnt, I bought the Njoe this morning. Got it with the Mullard tgubes and the upgraded shoes and power cord. It arrives on Thursday and I'm ready for lots of fun listening.
