I was wondering how the hell they missed any Larry Burrows or my dear friend PJG, but then realised it was an AP splash....
Henri Huet was/is a favourite of mine though - sublime photographer....
35 years..! I went to the 20 year anniversary (me all wide eyed meeting with the likes of Page and Peter Arnett !) and I'm struggling to believe that was 15 years ago..!

As a Vietnamese, the tragic memories of the Vietnam war stay with me for the rest of my life.

Peter, they stay with me also. It was a horrible war waged by the powerful for their self interest. I was a teen during it all watching the news. One thing it did was bring many Americans to the point of anger, protest and political opposition we've never seen before.
It doesn't help those on both sides that died.

Peter, I think these pictures bring tears more easily to my eyes now. Then it was just 'horrible' but a distance from me, even tho' friends had brothers that were called up. Now I can understand what a limp body of a child might be like in someones arms.
What remains depressing is that we have watched it happen again many times since each time with the same excuses and are watching something very similar now and effectively stopping it is still not the at the top of everyones political, humanitarian or social agenda. Yes it takes effort and money, a lot of it, I just can never believe it takes that much of both only spent on arms and destruction.

I didn't realize how much the Vietnam war defined the US.
How it affected the psyche of all men of a certain age, how some companies are run - e.g. my former employer had a SVP who is a WestPoint graduate, served as an officer in Vietnam and runs the group as if he's still in the Army.
