Internal shot of Nait 5

My kingdom for an internal shot of a Nait 5. The shots on Naim Audio Short guide are too close up, and only show the main PCB. If you have one, please post here or email to juddson1@msn.com

Why do you want to see the inside of things before buying them?
Actually, I always pop the hood of a car I'm interested in buying so I can say to myself confidently, "yup, it's a motor".
Dangerously close to making a car/hi-fi analogy,
mike.

Good question. I'd like to see what it looks like compared to the 150 on the inside. Just curious. I think looking on the inside gives you an idea of what you are getting.
Consider the flatcap and the snaps. On the used market, they are something like $350 and $150 respectively. After seeing the inside of the flatcap, I could spend less on the snaps with confidence.
Obviously, you have to use this sort of reasoning responsibly.

It's nearly always depressing looking inside to find how little is in there.
But then you switch it on
To err is human; to really foul it up requires a computer.

A bit small but hopefully this will do.

I bought ALL THAT!!!
I'm used to the empty box syndrome - seems that not the case with the Nait 5.
Gee, I wonder how it would sound if they split it into two boxes. Oh, wait...

Well,
I decided to have a go at a 112/150 combination principally because the price was right. This gear will be replacing a 72/140 combination for a number of reasons, not least of which is the remote control and a hankering to experience some of the new Naim sound. What's more, my replacement gear is only 1 year old and so i don't have to worry about recapping anytime soon.
But why, you might ask, did I do this combo rather than a nait 5? Good question. The combo (used from a dealer) only cost me about $300 more than a used Nait 5 from a dealer. So, I thought it was a no-brainer. Also, my gut tells me that the 150 will be a very worthwhile improvement over the amplifier section of the Nait 5 (though, my gut also tells me that the pre-amp section of the Nait 5 is arguably about the same as that found in the 112 (point me straight on this if I am wrong)). So, on balance I though the combo would be the better way to go. Can always add hicaps in the future.
Unfortunately, I'll have to gerry-rig a phono section from a nac 42/snaps until I can coble together enough $$$ for a stageline. Any reason why taking it out of the tape-loop of the 42 should be avoided. I see none--but I might build the boards into a seperate box for good measure anyway.
I'll let everybody know what I think of this combo vis-a-vis my 72/140 combo when I get a chance.

Congrats on your purchase!
I listen to the 112/150 (with obligatory FC2
) whenever I'm at the dealers and I think it's awesome. No reservations whatsoever.
Let us know when you get a FC2. Or Hicap. Then the stageline. And a Hicap for that.
Then new speakers.
Enjoy!
