I believe you had a pair of Obelisks.
How long did they take to run in?
Are they good?
Any advice on placement, etc...

I see you're now using a Dynavector HX75 power amp!!!!!!!

Thanks for ridiculing my decision to research non-Naim amplification in previous threads!!!!!!

I too am very pleased with Obelisks. I have the rubber-footed variety (older cabinets), with upgraded bass units and cross-overs. In their current setting, they appear to have further benefitted from Mana stands (SB1s).

I've got a big box full of 'em. For a small fee (£400 + VAT) I am happy to fit them to any speakers you like. Lots of different styles available.

Jason, Nick, Omer,

I discussed Obelisk upgrade mods with Shahinian and followed their recommendation (total cost about $1,000). When I specifically discussed the castor issue I was told that they were for convenience only; they did not believe there to be sonic differences, except perhaps relating to speaker-floor clearance in certain situations. With respect to the latter (because of bass 'bloatiness' and proximity of the bass speaker to my carpeted, suspended floor) I decided to try some SB1s. I opted against castors because Shahinian said they looked a bit odd on the flange-less older cabinet. As I mentioned, I am very pleased with the (visual and auditory) result -- regardless of its precise aetiology.
