England walloped by Argentina

How many more matches have England got to lose before Robinson goes?

He left pretty sharpish at the final whistle.

Very disappointing.

I've got an idea for two more threads:

1)England walloped by South Africa and

2)England walloped by South Africa again.

I've been offered tickets to go to one of the games but I'm not sure I'll bother.

Today was one of the most abject performances I have seen from England in a long, long time.

And that's saying something in recent years!

With the World Cup defence looming I am amazed at how long the RFU are supporting Robinson. England have really been struggling since that final! What is more of a concern is the continuing stream of basic errors from a squad that really should be so much better. It is almost as though they practice the mistakes!

What is worrying for everone else is the way the All Blacks are shaping up.

England really need to wake up to their plight and accept the work that needs to be done. For them to be outside the top 5 in the rankings is dire enough. They have about 12 games before the start of the World Cup. Is that enough to rebuild a fragile self belief, instill confidence and get the basics right?

Over to the RFU!

They're barely even in the top 5 in Europe!

They have not been playing well for some time, but the problem used to be an inability to convert possession into points. Now the pack get pushed around in the scrum and are turned over at every breakdown. We always used to be good at forward play and a bit crap in the backs. Now we're crap at everything!

Sadly, Mark, you spotted the theme! Based, of course and unfortunately, on your own "England walloped by the All Blacks".

I know that last time Rob Andrew was pretty calm in his support for Robinson 'whatever panned out', but things are just becoming a national joke.

I actually find this very sad as I have followed the England rugby team for many years and watched then grow from a good team under Geoff Cooke to the best side in the world in 2003.

This is currently the worst side I have seen wearing the England jersey and, by rights, with the sheer number of players they have at their disposal they should be top 3 in the world at least.

Robinson was never the right man in the first place and he definitely has to go now.

What we saw today cannot continue.

Good for them oxgangs. I always like to see Scotland win. My wife is scottish and her late father was a member of the SRFU. We scattered his ashes on the Murrayfield pitch. He would be glad at their recent revival.

I listened to the England-Argentina scoreline evolve whilst watching the Ireland-S Africa game. I then made a point of missing the highlights.

Luckily The X Factor was better this week than it was last week!

If Andy Robinson really has England's interests at heart, he would not wait to be sacked.

I'm not sure that we have the players to challenge the top two or three, but this side is not punching it's weight and Robinson has had enough time.

Maybe those public school boys have been having one too many chardonnays . . .

No, don't think that's the problem ... public school boys, I mean ... but chardonnay - yuk! (surely found more in the soccer dressing room?)

I don't think it's all down to Robinson. True he has been there long enough to get the hang of this by now, but the players must carry some of the can.

Having calmed down a bit from the other day, I'd like to think that this is all rational but ... well first off I'd shoot Corry. Nice bloke and all that, hard grafter, but not a leader in any sense of the word. Watching from the West stand as he buggered up an easy overlap almost brought tears to my eyes. And then a call for a back row move on our own line with time running out for us which ended in a penalty for them was cretinous.

Robinson added his own peculiar style of muppetry to the mix too ... Hodgson was kicking out of hand like a drain and failed on several occasions to relieve the pressure. But unfortunately bringing him off left us with a grand total of 2-ish caps between 9, 10 and 12 with no. 8 playing out of position too! So where was the decision making axis?

The rest of them were mediocre with some odd performaces like Perry going from good against the AB's to "fish out of water" here. Granted it's always harder when the pack are going backwards.

About the only players to come out of this steaming dung hill smelling vaguely of roses were the back three and Lewsey when he came on. Although all of them were guilty of handling and other errors, except maybe Sackey, and that's only 'cos no-one gave him the ball!

"Head in Hands" moment of the match? England spread out (backs and forwards) on the Argentinian 22 waiting for the ball to come back from our ruck under their posts all eager to score the match levelling try. Pause. More pause. Then White decides it may be best if he was at the coal face grafting for the ball rather than sitting back. Would that some of the other forwards had figured that out too! If you want to play running rugby then fine, but do the basics and fetch the sodding ball first.

Roll on next weekend. I suspect both coaches will be sitting in their teams changing rooms beforehand saying "it's alright guys. I saw their last match and they were crap"!!

They are obviously giving him the chance to go for the record, then.
