????CORE & ????WAVE

Posted by: Not For Me on 20 February 2003

When reading a review of a Coedine LP, the term 'sadcore' was used. I presume that all the ????core sub-sub-genre terminology derives from 'hardcore', with its own various manifestations from straight edge punk to dutch gabba techno

Here are some ????cores and ????waves I have come accross...

Hardcore
artcore
darkcore
sadcore
quietcore
trancecore
basscore
noisecore
coldcore
grindcore
emocore
guitarcore
psychcore
popcore

darkwave
coldwave
nowave
newwave (duh!)

Any more cores

I can add the following to your ***core list:

deathcore
doomcore

I work with a bassist from a doomcore band, or so he says. He has used both these words in conversation.

I also seem to recall reading a review that described a band as "grungewave".
