Can anybody advise on wireless networking?
Posted by: TomK on 16 November 2008
I've just bought a Panasonic BD35 Blu Ray player. It has a standard 10Base-T connection for BD-Live connection. Can anybody tell me what I need to connect to the BD player to make it talk to my wireless router? I've found a few wireless Ethernet bridges but they all have USB connections and are therefore not what I need.
Any advice most gratefully received.
Thanks.

Something like the D-Link DWL-G810 Ethernet - Wireless adaptor would be what you need....I would add a hyperlink to it but I'm not sure what the rules are about linking to products and Google will work just fine.
Edit: It may be discontinued but a Google search for "Ethernet wireless adaptor" or similar seems to work.

Thanks Jim but most of what turns up seems to be USB based and that's not what I'm after. If you can be a bit more specific I'd be extremely grateful.

Try a LINKSYS WET54G 54Mbps Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge or similar bridge from manufacturer of your choice. Some stuff on the AVS Forum (Panasonic owners section I think). Any bridge that takes 10/100 wired ethernet in/out and bridges to wireless will do I believe.
BTW, the BD35 is $250 in the US if you search around...amazing price.

Thanks Jim. Just ordered this from an Amazon seller. This was one of the first gadgets I found but for some reason I managed to convince myself it wasn't what I needed. Fingers crossed!
