Go for the new Naim VIVOs. They are awesome and rampant little beasts. Much better than the Credos (PRaT and communication) and probably more room tolerant than SBLs.

Although one very prominent Naim dealer www.grahams.co.uk recommends Celestion A3 with naim systems and they are much cheaper than before.Maybe need 250 though?

Neat Petite's, either with or without the Gravitas passive isobaric subwoofers.

With a decent, powerful amp behind them, these speakers are superb. Nothing better at the price (I have just spent the last four months looking, and I heard a lot of good speakers but these transcend mere 'good' speakers).

Available in cherry or black finish, they have all of the attributes that a decent speaker should have, plus they seem to me to be relatively free of positional heebie-jeebies (i.e. they work well either against a wall or out in free space). They also look great in cherry.

Can't recommend them enough!

I personally use Rega Naos. They are seriously punchy, tuneful and well-balanced, whereas Credos can sound a little harsh. I have heard the Naos on the end of a variety of kit including CDS2/52/250. The further up the Naim range, the better they get. They sound better on the end of Naim than Rega's own electromics in my opinion.

you haven't mentioned your front end; it's difficult to recommend speakers until the whole system is taken in to account, let alone the room. ES12's are a very capable speaker, easily driven by a 180... let us know what your front end is, and we can digest and discuss after that.

Rico - all your base are belong to us.

Matt,

I don't think you will get any useful information from your poll, because it only has one response?

Did you intend for your two choices to be different selections?

Also, you haven't offered a 'No, choose something else' option.

I am running ES12 and 180. Problems with moderate to high volumes especially with bass? Curious because I do not have a problem. Most of the bass problems associated with the ES12 are room interaction problems. In an unsuitable room, bass tends to boom. BADLY. Changing from my NAIT3 to 102/180 cleaned it up quite a bit but I can still hear it when I crank.

My point is..... maybe it's your room??

Midland Audio Exchange are selling a pair of Yamaha NS1000Ms at £599 (www.midlandaudiox-change.co.uk). They are in Kidderminster - don't know where you are based. I used to own a pair and seriously miss them.

Go and listen to Ruark speakers, I have a pair of Equinox's. They work well with Naim amps. I would prefer these to any other suggestions made, but thats my opinion. Go try for yourself!
