Goodness, that's not easy!
Karl Boehm's recording with the Vienna Philharmonic for DG from the 1970s is probably the best, but is only available on CD now. Of course, you may find a copy in a charity shop, or a specialist vinyl outlet.

I've been reading a book on Carlos Maria Giulini, he did some Beethoven and recorded with Chicago SO and a wonderful period with Philharmonia in London. I'm going to hunt down some of those when I get time. Don't know if he specifically did the 6th.

Hello mrflange,
you should consider getting a complete 9 symphony box-set...
not only better value for money but box set vinyl is often in much better condition because of getting less played from pre-ownership, than a single LP symph.
i've got four of Lugwigs complete 9-symph box-sets so far... i don't think i need any more ; )
and i haven't had time yet to explore them all properly...
However i do enjoy the Klemperer : )
good luck with your search!
