Which is the bigger company now Linn or Naim?

I have long been fascinated as to which is the bigger company now (in terms of turnover etc) Does anyone know from published company records or are both of comparable size? I ask as i used to be a Linn-freak 15 years ago but the company never seems to have the same prominance now in the stereo market (amps, cd players etc) (although perhaps if i owned a huge Sunseeker which i needed a marine music network. . !)

Are such figures in the public domain? If they are then they are easily obtainable with a little bit of work. If not then the question is moot.

Yes, i believe all companies have to publish their figures each year (via Somerset House) May be wrong, but Linn certainly seem to have lost the zeitgeist these days as far as pure hifi goes.

Linn has a bigger turnover the Naim - it is about 3 times the size - but I'll take quality over quantity every time.

Linns W/S has a traffic rank of 323,027 and NAIMs 244,401.
52% of people logging on to NAIM go to the Forums.
Data appears to be current. Info from alexa dot com

I'm not sure I'd boast about that.

It's not the size that matters, but the skill and effectiveness with which it is used Winker

In terms of turnover, I believe that Naim is GBP10 million (ish) and Linn is GBP34 million (ish). However, as we all know, turnover is only part of the story.

I also dont know any more what Linn Products Ltd really make. Is is all audio?

From a personal perspective, my only remaining Linn item is the carcass of my 1984 LP12. The rest has been ripped out and superceded (Funked). However, my 552/555 will soon be joined by a Superline....

Wondered how long that would take to get noticed... I was talking turnover!

You can have all the turnover in the world and it won't prevent the need for a periodic financial restructure if you lose sight of what you're good at. Past stories re: Linn could be about to come to the fore again!
