if i put my ear up to my 3.5 i can hear a faint hum, no hum on the flatcap. any ideas, is it serious.

Mine hums like a humming bird on steroids...I can hear it from my listening position. If you have to put your ear next to it don't worry!
Not found a solution. Even replacing the transformer didn't help.
