Archers - What was revealed?
Posted by: Adam Meredith on 30 October 2005
All reliable sources seem to have experienced a similar lacuna in the storyline.
Jack's strangely Cruella D'Evil daughter seemed on the brink of being revealed as a "bad 'un" - something on the internet.
Next thing I or the rest of the "vague listeners" knew - she's on her way out the door and Jack is being grateful to his wife. What was the secret so great that it managed to persuade Jack for more than his ten minute attention span?
And - what was the parrot all about?

I can't say this ignorance will cause great suffering.

Adam - as a creature of the internet I would have thought that you would know about the synopsis of each episode available at the Archers website - BBC etc etc

I have this awful post number to get rid of!
So a Thread on the Archers seems a good place to do it. It has gone right down the drain in the last few years. Like a sort of East Enders in the Country. I used to be interested, but how could so many unsympathetis characters all get into one small rural community?

I hardly listened to the Archers last week.
What I did hear was all about Will, Ed and Emma - but not necessarily in that order.
It's like a throwback to Dallas.
So who is the baby's biological father? I want it to be Will.

And I thought Archers was an alcoholic beverage.

No the baby has to be Edwierd's, but in the DNA test it is revealed that Edwierd and Wiwyerm cannot have the same father - that should nicely screw Eddie and Jo, not to say (fat) Clarrie-luv.

The death of the actress who reads Nigel's mother's part was annoynced earlier on the BBC.

I almost enjoyed yesterday's Omnibubble of (most of) last week's episodes, and at last am realizing that there is a character in it called Sam and am reconsidering the ethnicity of the Vicar based on sound of his mother. Jack was nicely presented in lucid phase.

I guess you will have to go back thru the Archers Archives at http://www.tumpty tumpty tumpty tum
and discover that the Vicar's mother has not appeared or spoke on the program - Mabel is his dead wife's mother - this was also revealed in the last week again for new listeners.

But how long will it be until Mabel and Auntie Satya become best of friends and condone the inevitable marriage of the Vicar and Usha Gupta?

Ta for Vic-mum correction - my wife tells me that Sam has been in show for about a year before I noticed him.
Archers sure is not background-listening whilst web-browsing anymore, but needs focused concentration.

Perhaps things can settle down now - badgers, TB, bird flu and the Christmas panto.
