Information Wanted about Neil Youngs "On The Beach"

Whilst enjoying the company of good Friends and listening to some very good music last night, one of the Cd's that we played was Neil Youngs On The Beach, and very good it is too, but the one thing that puzzled us all, was the knowledge that it was withdrawn from circulation many years ago under a cloud of controversy. Now being re released again on cd format late last year.Listening to the lyrics and knowing Neils penchant for subliminal political statments against the establishment, I wonder if any one out there, knows the reason why this brilliant LP/Cd was withdrawn at the time .
