Footballers weddings

Posted by: Rasher on 15 June 2007

Looks as if we're going to be subjected to 4 chav royalty weddings this weekend.
This country really has dumbed down to rock bottom. Why do they have to have so much money, and what message is this sending out to all the kids; that success is getting in a supermarket magazine? Fuck me! Roll Eyes

Thanks for the warning Rasher - I'll look forward to avoiding them!

There'll be no avoiding it - believe me.

footballers - wankers or what! take darren bent for example: west ham offer £16m and £75 grand a week! yes chaps a week!
now bearing in mind charlton accepted the offer and no other club have made a bid what does he do ? he says he wants more and turns it down.
f****g greedy wanker !!
charlton have said they dont expect another offer in this range and expect him to line up for charlton in the championship next season.
footballers eh ! dont ya luv em. i personally think we are better off without players with that attitude anyway. Roll Eyes

surely anyone should be free to choose where they "work" (obviously I'm using quite a liberal meaning) regardless of who or what they are?

bit of sour grapes there scotty?

It still baffles me that the more these moron footballers and their bimbo girlfriends and wives publicly flaunt & squander their wealth, those that supply them with that money, usually the working class man & their sons who now can't afford a season ticket to their local club, rather than resent it - actually seem to revere them even more !! Extraordinary. If I was being fleeced by these tossers I'd make sure they never got a penny from me ever again.
It's unbelievable.
Imagine for a moment if this was politics and politicians, and the outcry that would ensue.

Isn't the primary benefactor of these otherwise unemployable oafs the Dirty Digger? It's Sky wot dunnit. The fans' money is not the primary source of income for the clubs, at least not the turnstile money. The daylight robbery that goes on with replica kit may be another story, particularly for the big "brand names" clubs.

Not exactly a small amount at some clubs though.

From Blackburn Rovers web site:

quote:
BLACKBURN Rovers are to cut the average cost of adult season tickets for next season by 25%.

It means Rovers will be giving more than £1million back to supporters in the form of reduced prices.

Rovers were one of the first Premiership clubs to say they will be investing some of the new television money in their supporters and they have honoured that pledge with this announcement.

In a throwback to last century prices, the cheapest season ticket will cost just £249 for the CIS stand which has nearly 5,500 seats available at this price.

The cost of a season ticket behind the goal in the Walkersteel Blackburn End will be just £299, a 30% reduction on this season's average price of £425.

Oh good...cheap family entertainment then.. Roll Eyes I wonder how much for a bigger club?

jay,
i think you missed my point.(although im not surprised by a chelski fan). Big Grin im moaning at the sheer greed showed by footballers in general.
and far from sour grapes over bent,im glad whu are not signing him as i never rated him. i personally would prefer andy johnson from everton.
all footballers should spend a day down a mine to teach them how fortunate they are in their particular profession. scotty Razz

* bump

Sorry guys and mods -

I thought I'd thought of a witty comment, but (as usual Roll Eyes) it was rubbish. I think it must have been the "mock, post modern, ironic chav" in me trying to get out Big Grin

Yeah. A Russian mine. AJ is a true pro, not England class but a great Premiership striker and loyal with it.

I don't get it. AJ gets paid prob as much as Mr Bent but Mr Bent is public enemy number one?

Darren Bent was a good player then he went to play for our second XI a.k.a Charlton - the graveyard of football - why can't they build their own team instead of trying to nick somebody else's - still Ambrose, Bent, Bent, the Hermaninator and Holland are all yesterday's men as far as I'm concerned.

If you want to land a goal scorer then Billy Sharp or Freddy Eastwood would be my recommendations. I'd avoid Shevchenko if I were you.

When Paul Sturrock took over his first club....can't remember who it was he actually did take the team down a local mine to show them what real work was. This was a first division Scottish team.....the players were hardly earning the megabucks of the premiership but they were still on good money at the time. I think the average was about 4K a week.

Barnsley are currently top of the Championship with Blackpool second and Bristol City third - Watford, West Brom and Wolves are in the drop zone. We're still unbeaten and joint top if I read it right.

ROTF

Is that the final arbiter then?

If clubs are level on points, goal difference, goals scored, games won and record against each other, does it go on alphabetical order?

Or maybe best half-time pies.

I think the rule is teams beginning with I and Q get automatic promotion if it finishes that way, but I may have just made it up.

Oh I hope not!

Believe it or not, all other things being equal, alphabetical order does indeed determine the order in the championship.
