Have been listening to this loads of late. Stunning - in my opinion.

AMORPHOUS ANDROGYNOUS/THE FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON - THE ISNESS

This is my first exposure to FSOL - can anyone give me the heads up on other work and a background on who they are etc?

Don't forget Stakker Humanoid: Stakker Humanoid.

I can't be alone in having nutted off to 'Humanoid, NUCLEAR ALERT!'.

I must confess that after trying real hard I just am not getting on with the new release.

However Lifeforms is indeed one of my favorite albums of all time and one of the rare 2 hour slots I can happily sit right through, espcially when boxed.

To be honest, I think life forms was a departure to what FSOL normally is, sad to say.

I have most of their releases. I don't like the new release at all. An interesting departure, but it doesn't flick my switches.

Accelarator is the album which I used to audition my first 'real' hi-fi. Calcium is probably the best track on this release (Papua New Guinea I have heard too much). Classic stuff!

Lifeforms is definitly of for after hours. Industrial soundscapes, eerie and soothing all at the same time. Lifeforms singles is also very good. Vocals from Cocteau twins. Usual incoherent babblings. Very nice.

Tales of Eph.. Excellent. Some crazy dews harp sounds, rythmic and ambient mix.

ISDN: A mix of some of the live ISDN shows broadcast from the studio to some radio stations. I like it. In fact, I have heard one of the live broadcasts from a dutch radio station (realplayer stream) which is really good. A pity that this wasn't the actual release.

Pioneers of the time. After a 5 year break, they seem to have drifted to too far away from what Im used to.

Get your hands on whatever you can. You won't be disappointed.

Here's a question for all you FSOL fans, where did they nick the bassline for Papua New Guinea from?

Extra geek points for knowing whcih rave star publicised this by including the original on a compilation.

Would that be Meat Beat Manifesto's "Radio Babylon"? [...burning with ecstacy...]
