hi keano,

i bought a panny TZ3 a couple of months ago and am very happy with it. i got an incredible deal at 7 day shop dot com. other than that all the lumix range is good. you could do a search as i posted a similar thread not long ago.
hope this helps. scotty

If your buget stretches to anthor £15.00, (via Argos) I would recommend the Sony Cybershot DSC-T70 a brilliant camera if your on the move and it is very compact. Excellent shots and a 3" screen on the back. I have a Canon 400D for more serious pictures but this little package is excellent.

If you want a truly versatile camera that feels solid, packed with features and takes fantastic shots then you cannot get better than the Canon G9. OK it is a little over your budget but you will not regret it - look at the reviews on Amazon (Google it to find the best price - £259 and it arrived in 2 days from California!!). I went from a TZ3 to this and could not be happier. Fantastic!

The Panny TZ3 is a phenomenal camera for the money. I also have first hand experience with the FX50 and own an LX2. Both of these are great too (but the LX2 does demand a little user knowledge to get the best out of it).

I would also say though that if you want a simple cheap "happy snap" camera, the Canon Powershot "A" series (except the budget A460 and 470 models) are hard to beat and are dirt cheap at 7dayshop.

FWIW I bought a Fujifilm FinePix F31fd because it was said to be very good under low light and indoor conditions and this is where it is difficult. It is fine for me, but I can't compare. The F40fd follows the same path.

This may help.
