Which Lambo?

Chaps

Given the proliferation of bandwidth wasting twaddle on this most English of Forums, I decided to start a decent thread.

The other day Mrs F and I were visited by some of our rich friends and they arrived in their Lamborghini runabout. Mrs F took rather a liking to the yellow demon behave beast car and now she wants one. I, of course, am happy to oblige but I'm stuck between going for the Gallardo or the Murcielago.

Can they both tow the caravan? Am I able to fit roof racks on both? If I accidentally collide with some chavs, will I damage the car?

Regards
Deane

How about a vintage one, Deane? The Miura is fantastic but the maddest Lambo ever has to be the Countach.

And if you want something on the roof, well maybe a rack won't fit but it has a handy spoiler.....

That's a tricky old dilemma you've got on your hands there Deane. Hopefully our Mick will soon be along to advise! Lots of luck!

Actually having thought a bit further, maybe a set of roo bars would help with the the chav problem?

SIII Espada for the family man or early Countach

Deane - Mrs C is quite pleased with her Gallardo Spyder - very nippy around town, though no roof rack option.

I think the amount of bandwidth taken up posting twaddle [and even sensible things] in the Padded Cell has dropped to am all time low since our late correspondent, Benfleet Fred, finally left, and his going I find quite sad though we almost always disagreed on big issues!

Kindest regards from Fredrik

PS: Nice thread by the way. Still got my old Volvo 240, but she will be going to the great car park in the shy at the end of the month on my return from a week in Poland. Then it will be very "green-conscious" pedal power! And I can start a [twaddle] Thread on old bikes which are not so old as to be interesting!

Well Deane, having riden in one of the Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo's in CHCH (at 170mph) I can say that I would be very unwise to purchase it, no matter how much I liked it & whether I could afford it or not - my licence would be gone in a flash and I would be comparing all other cars in my future as being pale in comparison and a waste of time.

PS: The towing mirrors you would need with a caravan behind might very well act as wings and make you fly....

Get the German version an Audi R8 so much more street cred and at the moment a very rare sight.Or even an RS4 or 6 still blows most supercars away (until the 155 mph regulated limit).

Deane, if you want a Lambo that can tow a shed caravan then you're better off with a LM002 complete with Countach V12! Oh and shares in BP.... Big Grin

I think the Countach is a dreadful looking thing - like something from a British Leyland parts bin. If you must have a Lambo, get a Gallardo in mink grey, but my recommendation would be to change your friends. Smile
ps...What was all that business in the 70's about with girls in ridiculous outfits draped over cars? And why did you sometimes see them in top hat and tails but no trousers? Confused And why is my friend Simon sitting next to me in nothing but a G-string and a bow tie?

a countach?

hmmm - would you show up to a wedding next weekend, wearing a silver grey metallic block-cut suit with slip-ons and no socks, open collar and two days stubble? no, 'thought not. so why would a discerning gentleman select his automotive clobber from the op-shop of the decades style bypassed?!

nostalgia has its place; sadly it doesn't translate to practicality in everyday life.

I can see a similarity here (BTW - which is the front?)

Dear Tony Sophie,

Thanks for posting the discreet piccie, and for having the courage to reveal your true identity after all these years. We do understand that in a male-majority, geeky place like the Naim Forum, it can feel a bit intimidating to reveal your feminine side. But I am sure we all admire you for having the strength of character to do so.

This is a photo of my cars at the weekend with a couple of my friends. As you can see, the gull-wing doors of the Lambo don't work very well at Tesco's compared to the conventional doors of the Ferarri, and you could do some expensive damage in a multi-storey car park if they hit a concrete beam, so I won't let the girls take the Lambo when they go into town. I'm also not sure that the Lambo wheels are as nice as the Ferarri's, and the Lambo seems to have a dent in the bonnet like someone's been leaning on it, but I can't think why that is.

The Miura for me. As long as I don't have to drive it...

Do they still make tractors?
Posted on: 06 August 2007 by Deane F
Yep, they still make tractors, as far as I know. They're white, so if you see a white tractor, have a close look at the branding.

I've seen one pottering about Greytown in NZ.
