More troops

I think we're in deep shit.
Against the advice of his generals and, well, everyone really, he's going it alone. We know he's mad, but surely someone will stop him from this insanity. Surely there must be a department in the USA that have plans for this sort of crisis; removal of the President when he's completely flipped out. Maybe he will fall victim of a "terrorist attack", or would that be too obvious?
I hope Blair will put distance between us at least on this one.
This is meltdown.

Unless a substantial number of US troops about to be deployed actually mutiny they'll go. Congress is now trapped: if they try any kind of coup they will be seen to be undermining "our boys in Eyerack", which is the ultimate no-no and political suicide.

Both Stalin and Hitler ignored the advice of their Generals and looked what happened then!
Bush really is not quite right in the head but he is only doing what he is told to do by Karl Rove who is only doing what he told to do by a gang of neocons like Paul Wolfowitz who is only doing what he is told to do by a group of multi-billionaire manipulators......

Wasn't it rumoured that the CIA were under orders to assasinate Dan Quayle should anything ever have happened to George Snr?

I have a terrible feeling that this already on the verge of ending in tears on a tragic scale.
At least GW Bush only has two years left in the Presidency.
I am ill with a cold or something, and listenied to the Bush speech on the BBC World Service last night as I woke up and could not get off to sleep again.
I wonder who the next US Preident will be? Two years seems a long time to have to endure the Worldwide implications of this one's policies...

I'm not sure we've got two years.

Anyone who experienced or has read about Vietnam can guess what is going to happen next. What the World needs now is another Superpower to put the breaks on the US. This smacks completely of George F. Kennan's containment. The US got stuffed on that one and they will get stuffed again by Bush's gamble.

Agreed. And it was all so blooming predictable. Bearing in mind that it was predicted then one wonders why the invasion went ahead? Bush et al are the worst kinds of extremists - they believe their own lies.

In a World ruled by propaganda, lies become truths!
The Neoconservatives have called for World War IV against Islam. In Commentary magazine, Norman Podhoretz called for the cultural genocide of Islamic peoples. This war is already opened on four fronts: Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Iran will be next?
Are we being softened up for World War 1V against Islam? And the use of Israeli nuclear weapons to hit Iran’s nuclear uranium enrichment plants? As recently reported in the Sunday times on the 7th Jan. The Israeli foreign ministry has denied this however.
Let’s not forget the USA gave Iran the nuclear technology in the first place.
This happened in 1957 when Washington and Tehran signed a civil nuclear agreement. Which over the next two decades meant Iran was furnished with technical assistance and seven or eight reactors with fuel isotopes.
I personally think the war in the Middle East is widening, and will continue to do so until America gets a foreign policy of its own!

You could well be right. Looks like US hawks are eying Pakistan next.

You could see this one coming. What's the bets that Musharef will be built up into the next US bogeyman. The man's a dictator who came to power in a military coup. This didn't seem to bother Bush and Blair when they wanted him aboard for the initial stage of the 'war on terror', which did not include delivering Pakistan (which realy does have WMD) from a nasty dictator and bringing 'democracy' to the poor, oppressed people.
