Are men on their way out?

Posted by: Chillkram on 11 July 2006

Here is a news story that should strike terror into the hearts of men.

We have been carelessly flinging the stuff around for millions of years and now women will be able to get their hands on it......without our involvement!

Do we have any other real uses or is this the end for us!

If vibrators had Amex cards and knew how to change a washer on a tap we would not be needed at all Frown

It's my contention that women are basically trying to be like men...

This is not a sexist slur, what I mean is all the things (in my opinion) that men have/want IE big cars, money, 'power' etc is what women now appear to want...

I don't personally think this is necessarily a good thing....

I know quite a few men and women who have equal measures of power, money, big cars and all the other trappings of what they consider to be their success/lifestyle/wants etc… I don’t get your distinction between men and women here.

Cheers

I think maybe Eiks post gives a hint at what I'm on about. I think for many years women have played 'second fiddle' to men in many ways and some (not all) are wanting (with some force) to fight back as it were. I think Mrs Thatcher (in her heyday) represents this in many ways....

Won't be long before eggs are available in the same way. Ditto artificial wombs, surely just a matter of time... then nobody will "need" anybody of either sex. But I expect even then we will keep making more of both sexes, largely in the old-fashioned way.

I don't think the issue is whether 'men' are in danger of being phased out, I believe that men and women are being replaced by generations of boys and girls.

Many people seem to want to avoid growing up. I am daily observing people who are 30+ acting as though they are 19.

Where is dear EW, when we need him? I am sure he would have something depressing to say about the possiton of men in this increasingly strange world!

I have a little joke about useless bits of skin, woman, and men, but it is too off-colour to post here, on a lovely Wednesday morning!

I think some women do have trouble actually finding a 'man' when all they seem to keep bumping into are oversized boys (according to the conversations my wife has with all her single female friends, which I eavesdrop on).

Yup. But on the basis that alternative generations swing back we'll be knee deep in grandchildren who are born old (mentally that is) and will be far more sophisticated than their infantile parents.

Well it's a theory...
