Coldplay.....

.... really are cruddy.

Have just watched their latest effort on TOTP. Strikes me as rather akin to the Emperor's New Clothes: if you don't worship them, there's f*ck all there.

But, as noted in an earlier post, I don't get to do Gwyneth Paltrow.

What I'd like to know is how any self respecting individual expects to be treated seriously after saying they've watched TOTP's!

They've cannily decided to be the anti-Oasis; all modesty and self-deprecation in interviews. Seems to be working. Plus, a genius-level promo campaign (they're fookin' everywhere, man...).

A very good point indeed. I hardly ever see TOTP, but made a special point of watching last week just to see Coldplay. Not impressed.

I think I must be in a minority here - I actually "quite like" Coldplay. Speed of sound did nothing for me at first but I now love it....

I haven't heard the new album yet but do enjoy the last 2...... Not earth shattering, but enjoyable to me Smile

I think that I'd rather risk 8 weeks at Neverland with Michael Jackson.

They write some nice but dull, predictable stuff and it's just a bit too polished for my liking - they never seem to let themselves go and I find myself doubting their sincerety. Their stuff feels manufactured to me - well manufactured but not from the heart.

Even worse are the number of similar sounding (but not as good) bands that have spawned since Coldplay.
