new A/C power cords
Posted by: davidf on 01 April 2006
just installed the new naim power cords into my cds2/52/135/01 system replacing the stock cords. Only listened for about an hour. They certainly look better, thicker and a more "heavy duty" feel. First impressions are positive, but the potential for placebo effect is there. I think it sounds better but I will give it a few days before deciding. Either way, at $25 a pop, there is no downside. Of course, my wife and daughter think I am insane! regards, david

Understood,
... and if you bought newer, better tires for your car would they feel the same about that?
Just a thought ...

David, do you also have the Cablepro strip?
Posted on: 01 April 2006 by davidf
John, I also have the NANA cablepro strip. I feel that the upgrade achieved by these two relatively cheap items is worthwhile. I am still not too certain what to rate the new power cords- my system sure sounds good since I have installed them. It is just that I am not sure how much could be placebo effect.
Chris, my wife and child would not question my auto tires, probably because I wouldn`t even bring the topic up. It is a bit of a stretch, even on this forum, to equate tires and power cords. Frankly, my loved ones have come to expect certain degrees of insane behavior on my part. They certainly have zero interest in my "hobby." Such is life.

David if your not sure if they made a difference then take them out, put the old ones back in and listen.

David if the change brings a smile to your face go with it
Myself and the wife agree to disagree on a lot of things, and the kids get their tuppence in aswell!
Walking around chester the other week the wife stops at the window of a jewellers, " Is'nt that lovely? " I can hear the voice in the background
Turning to look at what she is drooling over I see a £15000 ring, I mean for christs sake, where is the input for the mains cable?
I just do not see the benefit of spending £15000 on it, even if I had the money, on the other hand if it was hifi gear, well thats a different matter,

Sorry,
but what's the new Naim A\C power cords?
David
Posted on: 02 April 2006 by davidf
airdavid, naim has come out with new power cords to use to plug in your boxes. There is a previous thread that has a picture of them. They are called "tibia"cords- weird name as the tibia is the long bone in the lower leg. anyway, at $25 dollars (USA) they are cheap. david
