Is the flat cap 2 better on a cd player and pre or just a cd player?

Is the flat cap 2 better on a cd player AND pre amp or just on a cd player?

IE: Would the effect be halved when split over 2 units?

I have a cd3.5 and a Nac72 pre.

Thanks guys

For me the flatcap 2 made a big difference to my cd5, and when I split it with my 112 the upgrade was not so noticeable, but it defiantly made a slight improvement, although this is mainly at high volume.
I would like to try a black snaic to the 112 instead of the grey one that I have, to see if that would help.

I have my FC2 powering both my 90 and CDP

sure makes a difference but try it in other configurations if you want.

Your findings are indeed the same as mine.

In blind listening tests I concluded three times out of three that the output A of the Flatcap 2 into the CD5 only, was better than output A into the 112 with output B into the CD5 as recommended by the manufacturers (iirc.)

A s/h Hi-cap into the CD5 would be better still, and then you could use the Output A of the FC2 to feed the 112.

Mystik,

In your case, you'd need to experiment using the two 'caps with the 72 and the CD3.5 respectively.

Regards,

Steve.

I've ordered my brand new Flatcap 2. I can hardly wait. I sold my older flatcap and I'm hoping that whichever way I decide to configure it, it'll be an improvement!

Cheers guys.
