DVD5-AV2 ethernet connection

Posted by: Massimo Bertola on 06 May 2009

I'm always here for marginal issues, but they need answers as well.
I have connected my DVD5 and AV2 with a Cat-5 cable, but don't seem to get any different message on the screen and I'm not sure that any new menu has shown. On the AV2 panel I don't seem to see the OSD message shown when I turn to setup in the DVD5 functions. Anyone with experience in this kind of settings? Thanks.

Make sure you have the lead in the right hand (from rear) AV2 DVD5 socket - marked "OUT".

The right hand socket is actually marked "OUT", but it's on the DVD5...
I'm on my knees with spectacles, torch and mirror, and everything seems connected exactly as in the manual. I suppose now I have to select "SETUP" on the remote - going to check again. Every now and them I picture myself being caught by grandchildren kneeling in front of my Naims - they'd think I really love them. Luckily I haven't any (grandchildren).

Yes - how true. A lapse of short-term memory between the stack and keyboard.

For a while I had mine in the (apparently logical) IN socket and some weird light illumines but no benefit comes from this, wrong, connection. I am a total 'customer' with AV.

The one screen display is handled by the DVD5 - taking sound settings from the AV2. Couldn't live without it - when I remember how it all works.
