'Tour De France' in the car

My drive home from Tesco has just been rendered pleasurable by litening to Ralf and Florian's creation in the car.

This is wonderful driving music. What is it that makes this artificially generated, rhythmic noise so enjoyable?

The low sun was filtering through the trees and I was transported to - somewhere else.

More dangerous than a mobile phone conversation? - Probably.

It is good driving music, isn't it? Even nicer on a walkman when training on your bike.

Incidentally can anyone remember what that music was the C4 TdF coverage in the eighties? It wasn't Kraftwerk and it had the tune of 'Frere Jacques' towards the end. I'd really like to get a copy of that...
