plugging the cdp in the right outlet=wow!

Historically, I thought that my cpd was sounding better when plugged directly in the wall (as opposed to having it on the wiremold power bar).

I really liked my system (102/hi/NAPSC/250/CD2) but thought that violin quartets and quintets were sounding a bit bland and fuzzy. With this kind of music, coherence is a life and death issue. Without it, all one gets is a wall of strings without much relation and body.

In my ever lasting quest to improve my system, I tried last weekend to plug the CD2 on the powerbar (after the NAP and CAP and before the NAPSC).

The result is nothing less than staggering. Violin music is now a lot more coherent and there is a much greater sens of space with every type of music.

This is one of the clearest improvements I have experienced (more than cable dressing).

I have, from time to time, read on the forum that some preferred plugging their cdp directly in the wall outlet. I would suggest they try to do as I did. The improvement is not small.

Has anybody else experienced the same thing?

This is a bit disconcerting. If this has so much effect on the sound, I can not imagine what else could be done!

my experience...
