A sign of the times

Dear All,

Every few weeks if i am bored i visit the car dealers here on the Pacific Highway Sydney.

Now normally loads of smiling salesmen being enthusiastic and courteous etc etc. Lots of stock etc etc.

Well today many showrooms closed. Those that are open have hardly any sales staff and the car lots are not over burdened with stock.

Rumour has it that the BMW dealership is for sale. So few cars sold in Nov. The ford dealership up the road is closing and so on and so forth.

A friend bought a MERC recently and they just about gave it away so good was the deal.

The Hifi shops i visit are also showing a similar lack of customers and the salesmen are looking somewhat forlorn.

So is it starting to bite here in Sydney.

Certainly the housing market is stressed with some auctions for houses having no punters even turn up.

The new year (end jan begin feb) should prove very interesting as it is about then that my Boss anticipates that this problem will filter through to Health Care providers such as us.

Medicare rebates will sustain some of our business but those using cold hard cash with no Private ins will feel the pinch.

So have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

regards David
