Orbital reform, for one gig at least

Not sure when this was announced, but the Orbital website loopz has news that the brothers Hartnoll will be performing together to celebrate 20 years since their first single 'Chime'.

They will headline the 'Big Chill' festival in 2009. http://www.loopz.co.uk/begin.html

Looks like I will have another gig to add to booking for next year.

They called Orbital a day in 2004, with a short farewell tour, with some very disappointing performances. Hopefully the show next year will more like their shows from their peak in the late 90's and first tour of this decade.

£129 for three days, I think this includes camping.

I have seen Orbital at Brixton Academy a couple of times, the bass tends to pool just in front of the mixing desk, which is usually a good place at gigs. Orbital like to drive the bass live.

Try standing off to one side, the sound is much better. I don't know what the sound is like upstairs for techno, OK for rock.

The sound there for Kraftwerk in 2004 was fantastic, the best I have ever heard at the Acadmy, but Kraftwerk always have fantastic and controlled sound.
