To continue with someones (sorry can't remember who, and it won't let me search) really good idea of posting on the forum when there's someone playing live who's worth seeing, Antonio is preparing for a run of dates at Dean St Pizza Express, London:

10 – 17 March 2004
With special world percussion guests:

10th – featuring Enzo Zirilli(I)(drums/percs), Davide Mantovani (Bass/flughorn)
11th - featuring Pete Locket(GB) (tabla-kanjira - percs), Davide Mantovani
12th – featuring Joji Hirota(J)(taiko drums/bamboo flute), Davide Mantovani

13-17 – Antonio Forcione Quartet
(Jenny Adejayan, Enzo Zirilli, Giorgio Serci)

“Forcione boldly goes where no guitarist has gone before and the results
are quite spectacular ... Miss him at your peril” (The Stage)

An Awesome Concert last night by Antonio & his Quartet; this will go into my top 5 Ever.

Antonio is the 2nd Genius I have seen on stage, after Evgeny Kissin performing Brahms: Paganini Variations at the RFH.

This is all very well, but when are Pizza Express ever going to change thier menu?

The only new thing in the last 10 years has been the Cajun pizza (with 2 prawns) and the Bruschetta starter?

Faoir point David, and to be honest its not a great pizza!

Mind you I have been to this particular pizza express and its very nice. I think therefore it must be like a franchise thing?

Gary,

Like yourself, my Nephew and I enjoyed the Pizza Fayre on the night. On my next visit to the club I will spend more time in the "Nellie Dean" opposite and sample more of the Guinness than on this trip.

After seeing Radiohead last year at Earls Court last year, this venue brought home the value of Intimacy in seeing/hearing 'Live Music'. Having sat in almost the same seats at the rear of EC as the Floyd 19 Oct 1994 Concert, the sound was at best ok but mainly crap compared to the incomparable PF sound System.

So it's Venue's nothing larger than Hammersmith Apollo for me and dream that Jonatha Brooke may appear at Pizza Express one day.
