Optical update?

Hi all, I just bought a pair of old (chrome) style 135s and an old (chrome) style Hicap, and I wonder if they can be optically updatet to classic (olive) style or even to this new (however) style. Is it necessary to change the whole case, or is it possible only to change the front. How much does it cost and would it be much cheaper, if possible, without backlit Naim Logo?

I think it can be done, best to ask naim once they are back from their holiday.

Otherwise one free option is to unbolt the case, slide the sleve off, spin it round and put it back on, that way it is not chrome bummpered but black bumpered, I have seen this done on some bits of kit and it does make them look a little bit more like the olive cases.

Just a thought

Unfortunately you cannot reverse the cases on 135,s.

Hi,

there is a screw which is not symmetrical and if I reverse the case, I should only drill a new hole, I suppose.

But I need anyway new fronts, because the former owner had glued a sheet of aluminium on the old black front. It looks great but doesn’t harmonize with the rest of my sistem.

I hope, I can buy two olive fronts, and install then by myself, without the backlight. This should be the cheapest way.

I’ll ask naim, after holiday.

You have no choices, chrome bumper's full length facia are no longer available. You have to go the olive style. If you don't go with the illuminated logo (NADI) it is quite affordable. To insert the logo board, they need to make a rectangular hole in the drawer front panel, that's the expensive part of the job.
Call your distributor or Naim directly, ask for prices of individual parts of the "cosmetic upgrade".
