Oh dear Scotty, they were pretty dreadful.
Interfering with Pardew's squad, then sacking him having cut the ground from under his feet? What sort of people run West Ham?
Good luck to AP, he's a decent guy.

What with the hammers & the england rugby team losing so badly, I am in mourning.
Question to Scottyhammer--
I read somewhere that if (when) we go down, we'll be selling approx 10 players. So who goes, who stays?
matt.

I don't think anybody needs to say it, but that was a very poor performance by West Ham. I was surprised by Curbishley's response - it was very honest, but he seemed defeated. If West Ham did get relegated then they'd surely have the best squad in the Championship and the cash to hang on to those players who wanted to battle for the club.
As for my wonderful team: Jim is doing his best, but to me the problem is David Sheepshanks the man who sacked George Burley. Sheepshanks took the club in to debt, but shows no signs that he has a clue how to get us out of it. His latest scheme seems bizarre to me. Looking at Charlton yesterday I saw Ambrose and Bent as their best players; I saw Newcastle on TV the other week and Dyer and Bramble were their best players - are we becoming the new Crewe?

I agree too. Saturday's display was a disgrace, the first half the most feeble I've seen all season. The only player who really seems to care is Tevez, and, occasionally, Yossi.
Ashton I don't think will ever kick a ball for west am again, and Tevez/Yoss will be off at the end of the season (a pity). All the other spineless morons can sling their hooks - although we shuld keep Noble.
Curbs should stay, I think he might be the right manager to rebuild a decent team. Sacking him now would be a huge mistake - especially if we ended up with a Souness.

You do not want to do that!!!! From one who has seen at close quarters what he can do.
Just to lighten the mood slightly, a fun clip of the half time entertainment from a match I went to last season. Diccus/Jet you might want to look away, but the score was 1-4.

..Oh I wonder what match that might have been?
Enjoy yourself while you can oh barcoded one...because the title of NE "top dog" is starting to slip away
Let's face it we have the better Manager ...the better Chairman ....and bearing in mind that gutless display against Wigan there's seems little between our teams at present.
One area where NUFC have always had an advantage for the past few years has been how much money has been available ...with SAFC's current Irish consortium that is no longer the case ....a genuine assault on the Prem is being prepared (mebbe's next year if necessary)Quinn and Keane have no intention of simply "staying up" it is not in their nature (not unlike a certain Mr Keegan's attitude some years ago!)
Early days perhaps but ...I think we both know the tide of NE football is turning ....?

Jet,
You should not take these things too seriously, you guys loved it that rainy right at St. James's that signalled the end Gullit's reign, and I was there for that as well. What goes around comes around.
There is currently only 4 points separating the first 8 places in the Championship so there is every chance that it will be a tight finish. At least playing Sunderland is a proper derby, unlike the smoggies

.....Not take things too seriously ??? it's football we're talking about here! (2nd only in importance to how much blu tac to use between speakers and stands!)
And anyway you started it ...gannin' on about THAT derby game!...
Bill Shankley was right ...!

To the tune of The Beatles' "Yesterday"
Yesterday
Relegation seemed so far away
Now it looks as though it's here to stay
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
Curbishley
You're not half the man you used to be
There's a shadow hanging over thee
Oh, why have we
Got Curbishley
Why Pards
Had to go I don't know
Egg wouldn't say
Pards did
Something wrong now I long
For yesterday
Yesterday
Upton Park was a great place to play
Now each week we give three points away
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
Why Pards
Had to go I don't know
Egg wouldn't say
Pards did
Something wrong now I long
For yesterday
Yesterday
The FA Cup was just 2 ticks away
Now we're going down with Curbs and Day
Oh, I believe
In yesterday
Yes I believe
In yesterday

PS Have you heard that Curbs has been asking all the players to use their mobiles while driving their SUVs and Baby Bentleys - that way, there's a good chance of one of 'em picking up three points

Diccus,
Actually his job is looking after special needs kids! He is a great bloke, but obviously a bit of a nutter as well. Comes from supporting the Toon for all these years
Had a good chuckle about Jet's blu tack comments. He is right I must get my priorities right.

Have you heard the one about Curbs instructing his players to get caught using their mobile phones whilst driving as it's the only way they'll get 3 points?

You have the sincere sympathy of a fellow relegation struggler, Scotty. When your luck's out, it's out. It is all about the losing mentality, I think, as Curbs said afterwards.

Surpised that Anton bothered to make it back from his US booze schmooze for the game. But I suppose that he takes after his drug-cheat brother.
