..Jeez ..what a difference a month makes!! .... who-ever would have thought it? ...The momentum is with the Ammers' ....with the Blades looking decidely dodgy ...Ipswich are scoring for fun..
QPR win again ....
...And with Hartlepool losing today my mackems are the only unbeaten team in the English League in 2007 (I think!) 40.000+ at the SOL today in a right old battle with Wolves
...Haway The Lads! Big Grin

Looks like Sunderland might be a good bet for an automatic spot, Jet. They're on a roll and Derby and Birmingham are having a bit of a wobble.

I'd like to see them back in the Premiership with Keano at the helm.

Phew! That was close. For much of the afternoon it looked as though Rangers were going to have a reversal of Saturday's results with us losing and all our relegation rivals winning. But two goals in the last 10 minutes, including a 90th minute effort from the 'old boy', Paul Furlong, have made things a lot easier for QPR now. Good thing too with the fixtures we've got coming up: Sunderland, Cardiff, Wolves and Stoke !

Should be at least 9 points there, Mark. Welcome to mid-table, BTW.

Quinn + Keane + Investment = look out Premier League The Mackems are nearly there and this time we'll do it right! !! Smile Smile

i have to say i rarely watch football these days. I switched on tonight and have watched the first half of the Man Utd/ Roma game. I say it was rather riveting. Bloomin' heck Man Utd are on fire.

Is all football this exciting?

Hmm - missed that as I watched Chelski on the other side - they played quite well and when at their best were reminiscent of another team who play in blue.

theres a lot of EX west ham players about!!
Posted on: 11 April 2007 by Guido Fawkes
There's a lot of ex-Tractor Boys around too - they formed a club and called it Charlton.

I think they may be returning to Portman Road next season Smile

and a hurrah for for my wee team Greenock Morton who today earned promotion to the Scottish First division.

It's been a long, slow road back from near bankruptcy a few years back. Plenty of setbacks along the way - a few years back we were 23 points clear at the top on Jan 1st and still failed to win the league !

Well done this time the blues.

......Another win at the SOL today ..although the result was closer than most of the home fans thought it would be .....Sunderland could (and should) have been 4 - 0 up after 30 mins ...

Instead we faffed around the penalty area with our forwards seemingly intent on winning the politest player of the season award .."you shoot old chap" "no after you sir" "no I insist you have a shot" "no you ha"....aaaaghhhhh!! ...Of course everyone in football know's the script then ...give away a soft penalty (the first time Ranger's had been in our area!) and doh! it's 1-1
...2nd half and nerves take over and the Loftus boys actually start to pass it around and looked to be gaining in confidence ..

..Finally though the only home grown mackem on the pitch (Grant Leadbitter) decides to be bloody rude and doesn't ask anyone's permission before blasting in a touched on free kick. and justice is done (honestly)

What with the wonderous Tractor Boys stuffing Derby THANK YOU BLUE ARMY! (isn't Derby's manager Billy Davis an absolute ****?) ..in the end it all turned out nicely again!!

Yes - I used to admire Derby's football, but with those tactics my admiration is gone.

I must admit, Jet, that that was the type of score I expected and when we equalised I started to get ideas above my station, "Could we really get a point here??!!!". Obviously you boys soon put me right again!

Seriously, though, I hope Sunderland win the Championship now, as Keano looks to have the talent for management that many suspected he would have. I've also had a soft spot for Sunderland ever since the 1973 FA Cup final when they shut up the mighty Leeds. Who can forget Bob Stokoe running on to the pitch?

Back to Rangers and I hope that 49 points will prove enough for survival, as we may not get any more this season.

Regards

Diccus/Jet, shame about today's result. Just a setback though, I'm sure.

Meantime, the R's can breathe a sigh of relief as we are finally safe after a 1-0 home win against Cardiff. It's nice not to have to hang on until the last game of the season.

For awhile now the talk has been of automatic promotion and how we will stay in the Premiership this time with a crackin manager, irish money etc. The bubble has burst, albeit hopefully temporarily. It certainly isn't all over yet. Come on the Reds.

We had to get beat sometime I guess.
