Despite what was said in the BBC match report it was not a poor game IMHO.
The Toon played well at the back (shock horror) and in midfield, but without ever really having a cutting edge up front.
Chelsea were well below their usual standard, except in the cheating department where as ever they excelled.
Man of the match for me was Salano, but there a number of other contenders including Taylor (sponsors MOTM), Milner and Emre. Dyer was easily our worst player.
Got a text from a mate who is a MUFC season ticket holder who seemed very please, his twin brother who is a Chelsea fan has yet to get in contact!
Cheers Diccus, looks like the proper derby games will be back next year.
Regards
Nic

Not that my predictions mean much, but I just used the BBC Predictor on the Premiership and Championship.
For the Premiership
I had my Top 4 (Champions League)
Chelsea 91
Man Utd 86
Liverpool 73
Arsenal 66
Next three (EUFA Cup)
Portsmouth 59
Spurs 59
Everton 57
Everton, Reading and Bolton have same points, but Everton clinching the place on GD
Relegated
Fulham 36
Charlton 33
Watford 24
Promoted from the Championship
Birmingham 89
Sunderland 88
Relegated
Southend 48
Leeds 45
Luton 37
I'm probably wrong, but it might please a few people if it ended that way.
Tractor Boys 12th ahead of Cardiff on GD and only 1 point behind Plymouth

....Typical! .. I go away for a few days ( a conference in Brighton) and yep ...we finally get beaten this year! ..(just in case anyone thought I'd disappeared in a massive huff!)
....So it's Burnley at home tomorrow night in front of an intimidating SOL full house ...of course it will be easy-peasy ..(except it will be anything but!)
I like Burnley ..a tiny town surrounded by Lancashire's big guns but they still get excellent gates considering ...but come on Clarets you don't NEED to win tomorrow do you?
...Butterfly's aren't in it ....my stomach's churning like an industrial sized cement mixer ..
..We could be up by Sunday ..or face a nightmare last day nerve shredder
..wasn't football supposed to be enjoyable?

Stunning third goal against Burnley Jet, I bet you were brickin' it.
Now derby need to loose today and that would be fine and dandy.

.....And so it's finally happened ........PROMOTED!!!!!
Without us kicking a ball!
I don't think anyone can really begrudge us this marvellous moment .
...On every other occasion we've gone up we've always been hamstrung by a lack of funds and had to watch our nearest and dearest (Boro + NUFC) spend big to ensure they remain in the Premiership.
..We've always had the noize ...we've always had the ground ...we've always had the crowds...now it seems an open secret that we've finally got the financial backing England's greatest fans have always deserved.
...Wanna bet that Roy Keane will spend it wisely?

Did you manage to hold out on hearing the result until the end of the game, James?

Jet is the hardened supporter, i'm a mere observer but chuffed non the less.
I agree with Jet, it does seem to be different this time, and about time.
Cheers

Jet,
Big Sam, I bloody hope not. Not Newcastle's style of play at all. I've been going long enough to remember Jack Charlton's time at Newcastle, very effective for the Irish national team, but he only lasted a season at the Toon.
Nice to see Owen back, hope he stays fit and stays here!

In a magical turnaround of fate, i actually fancy the hammers staying up!
Lets just hope manu over celebrate and over indulge their premiership win.
There is a glimmer of hope at least.

WOW!! what a finish to the season. man i almost chewed my nails down to the bone.
im also glad the seasons over at last as its been pretty much torture for whu and we must now move on and rebuild. im sure curbs will take the club onwards and upwards next season.
my commiserations to sheff utd and i do understand how agrieved they must feel.
but nobody can take away the fantastic end of season run in we had being crowned by sundays win at man u.
i hope tevez stays as he has become a cult hero to the east end but wouldnt be surprised if he goes. we are indebted forever to carlos and he will always stay in our hearts wherever he ends up.
COME ON YOU IRONS!

So if/when we sell Tevez, will we get any money from the deal? If we do, maybe we should give the Blades a couple of million. Maybe not.
Up the 'ammers!
