"He has had enough," said Johansson. "He thinks that people have been saying how incompetent he is."

The truth often hurts, no matter what the pay packet. Was he worse than Revie?

re: WHU 0 Palermo 1
Well the italians certainly defended very well as youd expect but thought the hammers were unlucky not to get at least a draw.
got it all to do in italy now! but its not all over just yet.

Don't you just hate being right all the time? Big Grin

Seriously though, you're losing points to teams that might be fighting for their lives come the end of the season. Doesn't look good does it?

Pardew will probably carry the can for the recent results even though it wasn't his idea to bring the new players in. Expect a foreign coach to be your next manager. (was probably the original plan of the new owners anyway Roll Eyes )

Club owners picking teams always leads to plenty of entertainment - for your rivals anyway. Big Grin

Chin up fella!

I am convinced that someone apart from Chels unless they eventually play well will lead Barclays thing re next May but will be very happy if MUT or Reading etc don't.

Money should not be neccessary to win/enjoy recorded music etc, and IMO isn't.

Internationals upcoming ...

The hammers are going down.(my prediction)

Another game unbeaten for John Gregory at QPR. Only by the skin of our teeth though, with an injury time equaliser making it 3-3 at home to Norwich.

A point's a point.

Bugger. Back to losing ways I'm afraid. Another high scoring game losing 3-2 away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Not looking good again, I'm afraid, after a bit of a rally with the new manager, John Gregory.

No wins in three now.

It'll change - Dexter Blackstock and Lee Cook looked impressive in the highlights I saw. QPR play some attractive football - I hope it brings rewards and you climb that table with us.

QPR update.

In the eighth game this season that Rangers have shared 4 goals or more, at least we have come out winners this time.....4-2 at home to Palace is very satisfying.

Defence is still the issue though, with 28 goals conceded in 16 games. 19th place is out of the relegation zone, but it still looks like it's going to be a very uncomfortable season.

Rangers are a good side - I'm not surprised they are scoring goals. I was very impressed with Palace at Portman Road on the opening day. So a 4-2 win over them has got to be something to build on. You won't be anywhere near that relegation zone at the end of the season.

Let's hope not. It would be good to see Ipswich climb the table as well.

I always think of Ipswich as like Rangers because they are similar sized clubs and have spent a while in the top flight. You came close to winning the title in 80/81 as we did in 75/76. In each of those seasons the best team didn't win the league.

You're right Mark. We won the league in 61/62 with the late great Sir Alf at the helm. We were a bit like Watford in our style of football in those days (Crawford and Phillips what a strike pair).

But what about this:

1974-75
1 Derby County P 42 W 21 D 11 Pts 53
2 Liverpool P 42 W 20 D 11 Pts 51
3 Ipswich Town P 42 W 23 D 5 Pts 51

It was 2 pts for a win and 1 for a draw, but the rules have changed and it's now 3 pts for a win and 1 for a draw

So the 1974-75 table should read

1974-75
1 Ipswich Town P 42 W 23 D 5 Pts 74 (GD 22)
2 Derby County P 42 W 21 D 11 Pts 74 (GD 18)
3 Liverpool P 42 W 20 D 11 Pts 71

I agree Rangers and Town are similar in many ways, both teams have always tried to play football the right way and still do. Lets hope there are better times ahead for us both.

Our glory season

We were 1 point ahead of Liverpool with 3 games to play went we went to Norwich at Carrow Rd.

Norwich beat us 3-2 and Liverpool won their match to go a point clear.

We both won the next game and went to the last game of the season a point apart.

On the Saturday, Rangers had Leeds at home, who had been European Cup finalists the season before.
Liverpool weren't playing until the Wednesday night, away to Wolves who needed a win to avoid relegation.
We beat Leeds 2-0 and we all ran on to the pitch thinking we had won the title.

On the Wednesday night I was listening to the radio to the Liverpool game.
With 15 minutes to go Wolves were 1-0 up and playing well. Then came the collapse and they lost 3-1. Dalglish did the damage I seem to remember. Dream shattered.

And I still have not forgiven those bloody canaries!
