Odd offers for gear in loot!

Posted by: wal riley on 03 March 2005

I'm trying to flog an old amp in loot, for not much money at all. however, I keep getting offers for it which involve me accepting a cashiers cheque for X amount (usually at least £1-2000), deducting my amount and forwarding on the remainder to the individual's 'shipping agent' after arranging delivery. Maybe I'm a bit green to all of this but it seems like a lot of palava for less than a ton, and i'm the suspicious type! Anyone any experience of this type of situation? Your comments would be welcome.

There is a very old adage that is as true today as it was years ago, posible even more so.
"IF IT LOOKS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT PROBABLY IS,"
worthwhile remembering and applying before parting with any cash etc.

Wal,

Yeah it's a classic scam as everyone else here says, even I know that and I'm lousy at spotting these things. The above though is against forum rules I think - unless you are joking of course!
