Yet another England victory inspired by Captain KP

Posted by: Guido Fawkes on 22 August 2008

I remember reading lots of posts that doubted him, but I think KP is a superb captain.

Sorry, but KP is a mercenary halfwit and should never have been considered as an England player let alone an England captain.

I am off to the Oval on Friday, where I expect to see KP's nose rubbed in doodoo.

Well, Nick, I can only hope that you are deeply diappointed. Again.
He did have some assistance, Particularly from Flintoff and Harmison but KP deserves a lot of credit.
A very welcome aspect of the England team is the way they speak on radio or TV. No sniping, just a great team spirit.

2-0 and all thanks to KP - Mr 100%

Oh for Goodness' sake - it's only two matches and you've already made it into a 100% roll! Soon as the poor guy falters (as all people do) he'll get the bashing of his life because "he's not British".

Last week we were watching the TV and they were talking about Reading's winning streak having ended - 4 games into the season. 3 games on the trot is hardly a winning streak!

And during the Olympics I felt shocked and dismayed at the report which pointed out that our man 'only managed silver' in the triple jump.

ONLY MANAGED SILVER??? It's a brilliant result!

I'm with Frank.

KP seems to have got a bit of team spirit going, and when winning it all looks pretty easy. A hot and hard tour of India this winter will tell us a lot more.

Three matches if you count the test Smile

(3 / 3) x 100 = 100% = KP

Yes we are bound to lose the odd game here and there, but he got such a negative reaction when appointed that I though we'd lose every game - we haven't, we've won in style and seen Prior and Broad surpass expectations.

It would be for the Tractor Boys - we could have a street parade if we ever achieved that unlikely event

I have to agree with you there, Frank, but couldn't he have jumped just a few more inches?

For most, maybe. Ask the guy himself. I think you will find him disappointed, he was favourite.

KP would not have settled for that, he's out to be a series winner - wonder if he wants to play football at the weekend because I know a team desperate for a captain ....

What?!!! I go on holiday for a couple of weeks and we start to do well in sport, winning at the cricket and coming an unheard of fourth in the Olympics?!!

Still, I'm glad to see that normal service has been resumed for the England football team, though.

correction (5 / 5) x 100 = 100% = KP

fantastic captain IMHO

Mark, don't concern over the England football team - with Cappello at the helm things can only go downhill - I doubt we'll qualify for another tournament unless we host it. It's exactly the same team Maclaren picked except even the players have brollies now.

Meanwhile, back on the playing fields of Lords the new England captain is showing how it should be done. Plus moving Freddie up the order - 31 runs off 12 balls - Geoff Boycott said it reminded him of himself.

Still wondering what life will be like in League One - still Darlington had a good result: very talented centre forward much better than Lisbie.

Brilliant. It's funny though. The doom merchants have gone strangely quiet. Aren't they enjoying the recent results?

Mark,

Perhaps we should remove you from the scene permanently?! Smile

Seriously though, it really annoys me when people denigrate good results. I couldn't believe how we were watching the diving and that 14 year old kid was up against the big boys and managed 7th. I exclaimed that 7th was a brilliant result for such a youngster. "That's 7th in the world!" I exclaimed.

And a woman who was in the shop said sarcastically "Well that depends on how many there are in the world doesn't it." I couldn't believe the attitude. Here's a kid up against far more experienced competition and he's actually made it into the final and come halfway up the field in the final, and this twit has the temerity to reduce his achievement.

Then there was the "only managed silver" thing in the evening. People really need to learn to support good results in this country - it's a general malaise.

Change 'balls' for 'hours' and he would be about right! What's one word between friends?

I was thinking that myself, Frank. A plane back to Puglia would be just the thing after a first day back at work today and all the incumbent doom and gloom.
