NACA 4 or NACA 5

Having been afflicted by this illness for years, I have a cupboard full of cables, much of which is Naim speaker wire of different ages.
Is there a way to tell visually between NACA4 and NACA5?

Naca 5 is really stiff compare to Naca 4. Visually they look the same.

Stiff as a board with a strong tendancy to go its own way.

In addition to being much more flexible, A4 has the old elegant Naim logo* and the text 'Naim Audio' embossed into the web between the conductors, whereas A5 has 'Naim Audio' and a direction arrow painted onto the negative (i.e. non-ribbed) conductor.

A5 sounds far better than A4 when used with Naim amps and, at the price, represents a very worthwhile upgrade. The difference isn't subtle.

*the Naim logo on A4 indicates direction with the logo intended to be oriented toward the speakers.

While installing some Sound Bases the other day, I noticed that my speaker cable is NACA-4 (printed plainly on the cable). It's also about 15 years old. Would it be worth the expense to swap for NACA-5?

Emphatically YES

JRHardee !

Naca 5 is very intelligent and logical improvement of Naca 4. Go for it, it is cheap and even better than Naca 4. Buy about 2X5 m, that length is optimum.
I was a fool few years ago when I was used Kimber 8TC. After that I was used Straight Wire Maestro 2 which is very expensive (560$). Naca 5 have very specifical electrical characteristics and some of them is opposite from other cables (inductance/capacitance)...
All other cables are not welcome by Naim amps, which made some kind of "hurry up" sound without focus. There are no question about it that many other cables have something good, but in combination with Naim, believe me, won't go right. Many other cables (and components) are just a WAY of listening, not reality.

Sorry on bad english.

Thanks. All of mine appears to be 5, but I could have sworn that some of it is over 15 years old.
