50" TV on nCENT on nSUB?
Posted by: Consciousmess on 06 September 2010
Hi all,
I asked a question similar to this before as I have a new listening room and practically, the centre channel and the sub would sound really good bang smack under the TV.
It will be a moderately small listening room, but would you say the material is strong enough to support the weight? I know many people say the nSUB can be placed anywhere as bass in non-directional, but I enjoy the power bass it produces and the centre just makes sense.
Many thanks,
Jon

The n-CENT will fit within the confines of a traditional audio rack (with appropriate shelf-to-shelf clearance, e.g., medium Fraim spacers), so I'd suggest a sensible but inexpensive audio rack.
You will probably need some isolation between n-CENT and rack shelf - likewise, if you're fortunate to find a modular stand with sufficient space for an n-SUB, make sure it, too, is fully isolated.

My nCent and nSub sit below my TV, although not in a direct vertical line. The nSub is on its spikes on the floor, and the nCent is on its own wall bracket (Naim manufactured), with the bottom of the nSub about 2 inches above the nSub. TV sits on its own shelf above the nCent. Works fine.

Does Naim sell a wall bracket for the nCent or was it special order?

Hi David,
Thanks for that advice as I have noticed that things do fit well under my audio stack. It is also more sturdy and can support the weight.
When you say I will need some isoloation between the nCENT and the platform on the rack, would sorbothane pads be OK? I have severel of these and I could put them under the nCENT.
Unless of course you meant a damping platform as well as the regular platform on the rack?
Thanks for your advice.

The nCent wall bracket is the same as the nSats
