CD system only

What's the use to have an preamp, if you only use cd.
I guess it would be great for the music hmm.

Apparently it treats and smooths and stabilizes signal in preparation for power amp. You cannot use a Naim power amp without a preamp.

A pre-amp could be argued as being the first couple of stages of a power amp. The preamp mainly amplifies the voltage, while the power amp amplifies the current.

It also makes sense to separate smaller signals from the higher powered signals, hence the preamp.
