HDX Playlist Question

Posted by: nocker on 30 March 2009

when playing a pre-saved playlist why does my HDX only play the track I start it on and not the other 20 or so in the playlist?

Nocker65,

What you need to do is select the playlist (not the track)-->add selected-->current playlist--> the play

I don't know what your doing so I'm guessing, but you need to put the playlist into "current playlist" before playing.

Gary
I have dragged tracks into several playlist folders on the DTC. If I play track 1 for instance (from the DTC) as soon as it finishes it will play the next track on that albumn NOT the next track in the playlist.
Now if from the HDX window I go playlists>dance>tracks>play....it says loading>finished with nothing coming up.
What am I doing wrong?

Nocker not sure.

2 things:

1. From the IPUI follow the instructions I gave you to load a playlist into the "current playlist"

Also have the DTC open and after you load the playlist look under "now playing" in the DTC and the list should appear there as well.

2. Using the DTC: left side-->choose playlist--> the playlists will appear on the right side of the screen-->right click the playlist and you have 3 options "play" , "queue" or "random" if you choose queue--> go to now playing and the tracks should all be in this window which represents your "current playlist." From here you can play or shuffle. If you choose random it will shuffle the playlist and this will appear as such in the now playing window. If you choose play then it will play the album. Queue is more a function if you've already put in another album it will put these in the queue at the end of what's already there.

Perhaps your doing the following which doesn't work:

playlist-->choose playlist (left column)-->double click-->tracks appear on right side of screen

If you've done it this way you will not be able to play your album, but only the track that is highlighted.

PS: if you want to shuffle do this from the DTC. It doesn't work for some reason from the IPUI. Naim is aware.

Hope this helps.

Gary, thanks I will follow the instructions when I get home later. One simple question....what is IPUI? I need a direct line to you, you seem to know all the answers to my questions when I post.
Many thanks, it saves me pulling my hair out!

That's the user interface for the HDX. You should have 2 interfaces:

1. DTC
2. UPUI-- you need a web browser which supports flash eg IE. Open it up and at the top put in your web address for the HDX Here in the us it would start with 192 Hit go and it will pull up the front screen panel same as on the HDX itself. That is the UPUI. Drag the site to your desktop so all you have to do is click to open in the future.

Do not use the information in the HDX user manual it doesn't work.
