Round 10
BBC2 today at 12:30
Has he been punished? I though he qualified higher than that.

No sorry Howard, this was just the warm up session this morning... =-]

Kind of a boring race in the end. I don't mind Lorenzo but i am getting a little tired of him winning all the time...even starting to cheer for Stoner and Pedrosa! Hope Rossi and co. can develop the Ducati into a Yamaha beater next season.

Yeah, my thougts too Sandy.
Let's hope Stoner can find a good bike in Honda.
Anyone know of the outcome with Rossi's move yet?
Rossi would of got the ball in

Ah; ok...Rossi is going with Ducati next season.

Wonder how long Spies can lead the race today??
Posted on: 29 August 2010 by Stephen Tate
I can't see the race until 12:45am GMT on BBC2

Rossi did well to get 4th today, and a good result for Spies. Pedrosa was streets ahead though, and the only one to get the hard tyre to work. Felt sorry for Nicky Hayden (despite the ridiculous haircut - someone should really say something to him!), and I love it when Casey spits his dummy out.
The Doc on a Ducati will be something to see next season. Hmm, wonder what the ride over to Italy would be like on my 'Blade?

A nice move on the last lap by Nicky Hayden to keep Lorenzo off the podium for the first time this year.

Great circuit.

Seems those two guys REALLY wanted that last spot on the podium!

No team orders at Yamaha, it would seem.

A great ride by Rossi today! Now that Lorenzo has clinched the championship we should see some great battles between the two "teammates" in the last few races....

So the doctor is back?, it did look like Lorenzo did enough and kept out of the way towards the end. Casey was down to standard.

Rossi was determined to steal some of Lorenzo's limelight by going all out for that win wasn't he?
Great ride though and like you say, Jorge just did what he had to but now the tile's wrapped up, we should see some tasty racing for the remaining races.
They need to do something about the size of the grid for next season. The Moto 2 class is heaving with riders but the GP seems to get smaller race by race.

My mind said the same thing, 39 Moto2 bikes and 16(17) MotoGP bikes, pretty poor really.
Is it that much more to rum MGP?

The economics of sponsored motorsport is a fascinating subject. Cost control measures are often ineffective, as the money spent will always be equal to the sponsorship dollars available, which in turn is a function of audience size (and purchasing behaviour in response to marketing). Too much money tends to concentrate in few teams, leading to boring competition which naturally limits the attractiveness to sponsors. It is a sort of natural equilibrium that is hard to perturb with regulation.
What regulation attempts to do is make the incremental benefits of investment smaller. Money that would be "wasted" on "disposable" F1 engines now gets spent in other, less decisive areas for example. Competition improves (a bit) so more people watch (Bernie gets richer) and sponsorship thus becomes more lucrative. This extra money concentrates at the top end of town so a natural limit is reached.

Don't forget that weather permitting, the race tomorrow will be on the BBC HD channel.

Just about to start...Ben Spies injured on the warm up lap...

Last race of the season this weekend. On the BBC HD channel again.
May be a good weekend for a 'wildcard' victory. Have been waiting years to see Edwards on the top stop. You never know, it may still happen.
Will be great to see both Smith and Redding in the Moto2 next season too. Smith may have a real chance with the Tech3 team and Redding has shown that he's got real talent.
