FTI,

Just wondering if your moniker comes from this rather special pub, with possibly the best view up the Tyne that I know?

Since working there all of my forum activities are authored as Free Trade Inn (perfect for my style).

Diccus,

For a Sunderland fan living in Durham, you seem to be doing a lot of drinking in my favourite pubs in Newcastle! We ought to get together for a beer some time. I will not discuss football!!!!

I love Newcastle, it's a wonderful City. It has a wonderful vibe to it. Sunderland, tho my favourite footy team, has a much less Cosmopolitan vibe and I don't go there unless for the football (rarely).

I had my Stag afternoon/evening in The Bridge, the Crown Posada and The Simla for a curry - How multi cultural is that Winker

Was planning a Saturday afternoon sess with a couple of pals soon (sadly only about once a year) if your up for a beer or 2. One of the lads is a punk affectionado and my mate Pete reckoned he played the first 'Punk' record in a disco in Sunderland. I'm sure we could enjoy the craic.

Mine's a pint of Black Sheep Big Grin

Take care and i'll email you if we get sorted for beer (obviously avoiding Saturday's at home for thee and my Red n White and Boro pals)

Diccus,

I await the call.

Had a few sessions recently in town (season ticket mates and five a side related) both of which ended with a meal in the Simla! Pubs visited included The Newcastle Arms, The Bridge, The Tyne, The Free Trade and The Crown Posada. Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ etc.

Off to our friends place at Embleton in a couple of weeks. I'm afraid they did take it off the letting agency books, so friends and family could use it only.

All the best
